If I had my way .........

This week,or rather the last few weeks have been all about weddings and wedding preparations. Two very dear friends of mine are getting married this month, and the usual craziness of searching for saris and sorting out blouses has driven me completely balmy. Each wedding means 6 or 7 events from cocktails to brunch to the actual wedding days and of course very large receptions……I’ve finally given up!

I have no idea what the end result will be, but I figure as long as one wears a smile, and heads out with confidence you really cant go wrong , right !?
In addition to all this two days ago I realized the following, I needed to find 2 suitable looks for day time events, and these looks had to be smart yet casual, light and cool (outdoor, mid day ,Mumbai heat and sun type cool) and yet wedding-ish enough !!! huuuuum .........So here is my take on what I would do if I had my way. Virtual shopping, what better way to life the spirits except for actual shopping which of course would be bliss.

From an amazing collection by Antonio Marras 2011 Spring ready-to-wear : romantic, delicate mastery, lace, embroidery and layered.

Love these "cinched at the ankle pants" a great alternative to the churidar !

Also love these looks from Bottega Veneta and of course Dries Van Noten  ....

for the evening ......

I have also been on a trouser hunt these last few weeks, and this is what I would buy if I had my way …..

Monsoon Cheer

It’s been gloomy gray and dreary for the last week. The sun has been in hiding and the rains have been incessant. We are in serious need of colour and cheer.

Magical Spa !

A spa in Miami, inspired by the patterns on the inside of Jeannie’s magic bottle !
Well it certainly breaks away from what one would usually associate with a spa
– minimalist, sparse, light ….. This space is all about rich texture, colour, contrast, and strategic lighting.
I love the Moroccan lamps throwing dramatic shadows on the dark walls and the light ethereal paper lanterns of the lounge area. I especially love the saffron and turquoise contrast for the treatment rooms.

Interior Design - Jamie Bush & Co

I first saw Jamie Bush’s work in the Architectural Digest ( the one with Jennifer Aniston on the cover! ) . While I really liked and appreciated his work featured in that particular issue, I had to share these three spaces with you because:
1) I think they are stylistically evocative of a particular period in this case mid -century modern and are yet totally relevant as contemporary spaces to live in.
2 ) I just really like his sense of design, colour, texture, attention to detail and every space has great pieces of furniture that all fit perfectly together
3)  last but not least all my favorite chairs seem to be appear in these spaces.
